Abstract
A slice admission control method and a communication apparatus. For each slice of each UE, a determination is made to release a quota in a slice and that is occupied by the UE by using a single slice as a granularity and based on whether a slice use status of the UE is idle, or by setting valid duration in which the UE is admitted to the slice. The determination to release a quota in a slice and that is occupied by the UE enables the UE to not occupy a slice quota for a long time even in response to the UE not using the slice, and reduces a probability of a denial of services to another UE.
Claims20
A slice admission control method, comprising:
- sending, by an access and mobility management function network element, a first request message to a network slice admission control function network element in response to there being no protocol data unit (PDU) sessions of a terminal device on a first slice or duration in which the terminal device is admitted to the first slice exceeds first duration, wherein the sending the first request message being used to request the network slice admission control function network element to release an admission quota that is of the first slice and that is occupied by the terminal device;
- and
- receiving, by the access and mobility management function network element, a first response message from the network slice admission control function network element, wherein the first response message indicates that the admission quota is already released.
A communication apparatus, comprising:
- at least one memory storing a computer program or instructions;
- and
- at least one processor connected to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer program or instructions to perform operations to:
- send a first request message to a network slice admission control function network element in response to there being no protocol data unit (PDU) sessions of a terminal device on a first slice or duration in which the terminal device is admitted to the first slice exceeding a first duration, the first request message is used to request the network slice admission control function network element to release an admission quota that is of the first slice and that is occupied by the terminal device;
- and
- receive a first response message from the network slice admission control function network element, and wherein the first response message indicates that the admission quota is already released.
