Beam group reporting for multi-TRP operation

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a user equipment (UE), configuration information to configure the UE to report information for beam grouping on measurements on at least one group of channel measurement resources (CMRs);
• selecting, by the UE, the at least one group of CMRs from a plurality of groups of CMRs, the selecting based on at least one rule provided by the configuration information, wherein the at least one rule comprises ranking the plurality of groups of CMRs in order to determine which of the plurality of groups of CMRs to select as the at least one group of CMRs, and wherein all CMRs of each respective group of CMRs of the plurality of groups of CMRs are received simultaneously;
• and
• reporting, to a network, information regarding the selected at least one group of CMRs for the beam grouping.

An apparatus comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to at least:
• send, to a user equipment (UE), configuration information to configure the UE to report information for beam grouping on measurements on at least one group of CMRs, wherein the configuration information provides at least one rule to enable the UE to select the at least one group of CMRs, wherein the at least one rule comprises ranking a plurality of groups of CMRs in order to determine which of the plurality of groups of CMRs to select as the at least one group of CMRs, and wherein all CMRs of each respective group of CMRs of the plurality of groups of CMRs are transmitted simultaneously;
• and
• receive, from the UE, information regarding the at least one group of CMRs selected, by the UE, based on the configuration information including the at least one rule.
