Couplers for image capture devices and accessories

A coupler configured to releasably connect an image capture device and an accessory, the coupler comprising:

• a base;
• protrusions extending from the base and configured to engage the image capture device, wherein the protrusions include:
• a first protrusion;
• and
• second protrusions located laterally outward of the first protrusion and movably connected to the base;
• and
• a closure member extending through the protrusions and including:
• a shaft;
• a lever operatively connected to the shaft such that the coupler is repositionable between:
• an open configuration, in which the image capture device is connectable to and disconnectable from the coupler;
• a closed configuration, in which the image capture device and the coupler are secured together, wherein the coupler is repositionable between the open configuration and the closed configuration via pivoting of the lever;
• a disengaged position, in which the shaft is removable from the image capture device and the coupler;
• and
• an engaged position, in which the shaft is non-removable from the image capture device and the coupler, wherein the coupler is repositionable between the disengaged position and the engaged position via concomitant rotation of the lever and the shaft through a range of motion of approximately 90↔;
• and
• an end cap configured for releasable engagement with the shaft such, when the coupler is in the disengaged position, the shaft is separable from the end cap, and when the coupler is in the engaged position, the shaft is securely connected to the end cap.
