Systems and methods for creating situational networks

A system comprising:

• processing circuitry configured to:
• identify a geographical area affected by a situation;
• identify a plurality of devices associated with a plurality of users in the identified geographical area;
• establish a situational network node for the situation;
• input/output circuitry configured to:
• transmit an invitation to a device of the plurality of devices to join the situational network node, wherein the transmitting the invitation to the device of the plurality of devices to join the situational network node comprises providing a notification to the device of the plurality of devices, wherein the notification comprises at least one of:
• (a) a user interface option to opt out of the situational network node;
• or
• (b) an option to the device to remain anonymous within the situational network node;
• and
• wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:
• based on the device joining the situational network node:
• place the device into a situation mode;
• and
• wherein the input/output circuitry is further configured to:
• based on the device being placed into the situation mode:
• cause the device to automatically transmit data to the situational network node, wherein the data was inaccessible to other devices via a network prior to the device being placed into the situation mode.

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising:

• instructions that when executed by processing circuitry cause the processing circuitry to:
• identify a geographical area affected by a situation;
• identify a plurality of devices associated with a plurality of users in the identified geographical area;
• establish a situational network node for the situation;
• transmit an invitation to a device of the plurality of devices to join the situational network node, wherein the transmitting the invitation to the device of the plurality of devices to join the situational network node comprises providing a notification to the device of the plurality of devices, wherein the notification comprises at least one of:
• (a) a user interface option to opt out of the situational network node;
• or
• (b) an option to the device to remain anonymous within the situational network node;
• and
• based on the device joining the situational network node:
• place the device into a situation mode, wherein being placed into the situation mode causes the device to automatically transmit data to the situational network node, wherein the data was inaccessible to other devices via a network prior to the device being placed into the situation mode.
