Optimized data streaming detection and prioritization

An apparatus comprising:

• a processor configured to
• prioritize a first plurality of data packets identified as streaming session data packets, to be delivered to a client device prior to a second plurality of data packets, identified as non-streaming session data packets, wherein the prioritizing comprises processing the streaming session data packets more frequently and prior to processing of the non-streaming session data packets;
• measure a transmission rate of data streamed to the client device;
• perform connection bonding using two or more connections when the measured transmission rate is below a target transmission rate;
• increase a transmission rate of the streaming session data packets to a faster transmission rate on the bonded connections for a period of time;
• and
• reduce a transmission rate of one connection of the two or more connections when a packet loss rate is determined to be below a threshold packet loss rate and maintain a transmission rate of at least one other connection of the two or more connections.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium configured to store instructions that when executed causes a processor to perform:

• prioritizing a first plurality of data packets identified as streaming session data packets, to be delivered to a client device prior to a second plurality of data packets, identified as non-streaming session data packets, wherein the prioritizing comprises processing the streaming session data packets more frequently and prior to processing of the non-streaming session data packets;
• measuring a transmission rate of data streamed to the client device;
• performing connection bonding using two or more connections when the measured transmission rate is below a target transmission rate;
• increasing a transmission rate of the streaming session data packets to a faster transmission rate on the bonded connections for a period of time;
• and
• reducing a transmission rate of one connection of the two or more connections when a packet loss rate is determined to be below a threshold packet loss rate and maintaining a transmission rate of at least one other connection of the two or more connections.
