Abstract
A method according to one embodiment comprises sending a first plurality of packets using forward error correction, FEC, with an initial success ratio. A report is received regarding a number of packets in the first plurality that were not delivered because they were actively discarded or considered obsolete. An updated success ratio is selected based at least in part on the report. A second plurality of packets is then sent using FEC with the updated success ratio.

A method comprising:
- sending a first plurality of packets using forward error correction, FEC, with an initial success ratio;
- receiving a report regarding a number of packets in the first plurality that were not delivered because they were actively discarded or considered obsolete;
- selecting an updated success ratio based at least in part on the report;
- and
- sending a second plurality of packets using FEC with the updated success ratio.
