Abstract
Embodiments described herein provide a hollow L-shaped structure used as a busbar for distributing electrical power in a data center. In at least one embodiment, the hollow L-shaped busbar may be made by folding a trapezoidal sheet of conductive metal.
Claims20
A data center apparatus, comprising:
- at least one busbar having a hollow structure shaped from a folded trapezoidal sheet of conductive metal being folded around a longitudinal axis to define at least one hollow interior, wherein the hollow structure is placed inside a busbar frame in a position at which the longitudinal axis of the hollow structure is vertical, and a top portion of the hollow structure has a top cross section with a greater area than a bottom cross section of a bottom portion of the hollow structure.
A method of configuring at least one busbar, comprising:
- coupling at least one busbar having a hollow structure shaped from a folded trapezoidal sheet of conductive metal being folded around a longitudinal axis to define at least one hollow interior, to a power supply, wherein the hollow structure is placed inside a busbar frame in a position at which the longitudinal axis of the hollow structure is vertical, and a top portion of the hollow structure has a top cross section with a greater area than a bottom cross section of a bottom portion of the hollow structure.
A method of manufacturing at least one busbar, comprising:
- shaping at least one busbar having a hollow structure by folding a trapezoidal sheet of conductive metal around a longitudinal axis to define at least one hollow interior;
- and
- placing the hollow structure inside a busbar frame on a data center rack in a position at which the longitudinal axis of the hollow structure is vertical, wherein a top portion of the hollow structure has a top cross section with a greater area than a bottom cross section of a bottom portion of the hollow structure.
