Abstract
Disclosed herein is a secondary battery having a vent member. The secondary battery may include an electrode assembly, a case for accommodating the electrode assembly and a vent member. The vent member is configured to protrude to the outside of the case, and one end of the vent member protruding to the outside of the case is joined to an outer side of the case.
Claims19
A secondary battery, comprising:
- an electrode assembly;
- a case accommodating the electrode assembly therein;
- and
- a vent member,
- wherein the vent member protrudes to an outside of the case at a first location, and one end of the vent member protruding to the outside of the case is joined to an outer side of the case at a second location that is spaced apart from the first location,
- wherein the case includes an accommodation portion for accommodating the electrode assembly and a sealing portion containing a sealant resin and is formed to seal the electrode assembly within the case, and
- the one end of the vent member protruding to the outside of the case is joined to the outer side of the case corresponding to a region inside the accommodation portion where the electrode assembly is not located.
