Air conditioner and discharge unit

An air conditioner comprising:

• an indoor unit which is wall-mounted and which includes a heat exchanger, a blower, and a housing that accommodates the heat exchanger and the blower therein, and which is fixed to a wall surface;
• a discharge unit which is disposed above the indoor unit outside the indoor unit;
• and
• a case,
• wherein
• the housing includes a suction port that opens upward,
• the discharge unit includes a discharge device disposed above the suction port, and a first control unit which is disposed in the case and that controls the discharge device, and the discharge unit is disposed above the indoor unit with a gap therebetween,
• the case includes a base member, a discharge device cover positioned above the discharge device and attached to the base member, and a control unit cover positioned over the first control unit and attached to the base member,
• the discharge device cover is configured to be attached to or detached from the base member and is separate from the control unit cover, the discharge device being accommodated on the base member and under the discharge device cover, the discharge device being configured to be attached to or detached from the base member with the discharge device cover removed from the base member, and
• at least a portion of air suctioned into the suction port passes through the discharge device.
