Sun shading systems

A system for providing shade onto a surface, the system comprising:

• at least one frame that includes a plurality of sections configured for engagement in an end-to-end alignment to provide the frame in a supporting configuration with a first end that is engageable with the surface;
• a canopy defining a length extending between a first lateral side and a second lateral side and defining a width extending between a first end and an opposing second end;
• an air pocket being wind driven to support the canopy in a supporting configuration and formed as at least three channels extending along an entirety of the width of the canopy from the first end to the second end of the canopy and along an entirety of the length of the canopy from the first lateral side to the second lateral side of the canopy and separated from one another by canopy material such that air flow between the at least three channels is not comingled,
• wherein, in the supporting configuration, the canopy is supported by the air pocket and is at least partially supportable by wind for providing shade onto the surface.

A system for providing shade onto a surface, the system comprising:

• a canopy defining a length extending between a first lateral side and a second lateral side and defining a width extending between a first end and an opposing second end;
• an air pocket formed as a channel having a closed side extending along an entirety of the first end of the canopy from the first lateral side to the second lateral side to support the canopy in a supporting configuration such that the air pocket extends along the length of the canopy;
• one or more anchors engageable with one or both of the canopy and the air pocket,
• wherein, in the supporting configuration, the canopy is supported by the air pocket and is at least partially supportable by wind for providing shade onto the surface, and
• wherein the channel defines an axially extending opening that extends from a first opening proximate the first lateral side to a second opening proximate the second lateral side.
