Abstract
A shovel includes a lower traveling body, an upper turning body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body, an attachment attached to the upper turning body, and a controller provided to the upper turning body. The controller is configured to set a predetermined condition on movement of the lower traveling body, and provide information on stopping the movement of the lower traveling body upon determining that the predetermined condition is satisfied.
Claims14
A shovel comprising:
- a lower traveling body;
- an upper turning body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body;
- an attachment including a boom attached to the upper turning body, an arm attached to the boom, and an end attachment attached to the arm;
- and
- a computer mounted on the upper turning body, the computer including a processor and a memory,
- wherein the computer is configured to, before each time an excavation is performed while the shovel is in operation, dynamically determine a next location of a virtual plane to be reached by the shovel for the excavation, the virtual plane including a normal to an intended work surface and passing through a center point of the shovel and through the attachment along a longitudinal direction thereof,
- wherein the computer is configured to determine the next location of the virtual plane by determining a distance between a current location of the virtual plane and the next location of the virtual plane such that a volume of soil to be loaded into the end attachment during the excavation equals a volume of the end attachment,
- wherein the computer is configured to calculate the volume of soil to be loaded into the end attachment based on data on the intended work surface, data on a current ground surface, data on a size of the end attachment, and data on a work start position and a work end position of the excavation, and
- wherein the computer is configured to, when the lower traveling body is in motion, notify an operator of the shovel of a remaining distance between the center point of the shovel and the next location of the virtual plane through at least one of a display or a sound output device, upon determining that the remaining distance is less than or equal to a threshold.
A shovel comprising:
- a lower traveling body;
- a traveling hydraulic motor configured to move the lower traveling body;
- an upper turning body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body;
- an attachment including a boom attached to the upper turning body, an arm attached to the boom, and an end attachment attached to the arm;
- and
- a computer mounted on the upper turning body, the computer including a processor and a memory,
- wherein the computer is configured to, when the lower traveling body is in motion, control the traveling hydraulic motor to stop a movement of the lower traveling body upon determining that the lower traveling body has moved a predetermined distance, and
- the computer is configured to, before an excavation each time the excavation is performed, dynamically determine the predetermined distance based on a volume of soil to be loaded into the end attachment during the excavation, while the shovel is in operation.
A construction system comprising:
- a shovel including
- a lower traveling body,
- an upper turning body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body, and
- an attachment including a boom attached to the upper turning body, an arm attached to the boom, and an end attachment attached to the arm;
- a display configured to output information to and receive information;
- and
- a computer including a processor and a memory, the computer being configured to remotely control the shovel,
- wherein the computer is configured to, before each time an excavation is performed while the shovel is in operation, dynamically determine a next location of a virtual plane to be reached by the shovel for the excavation, the virtual plane including a normal to an intended work surface and passing through a center point of the shovel and through the attachment along a longitudinal direction thereof,
- wherein the computer is configured to determine the next location of the virtual plane by determining a distance between a current location of the virtual plane and the next location of the virtual plane such that a volume of soil to be loaded into the end attachment during the excavation equals a volume of the attachment,
- wherein the computer is configured to calculate the volume of soil to be loaded into the end attachment based on data on the intended work surface, data on a current ground surface, data on a size of the end attachment, and data on a work start position and a work end position of the excavation,
- wherein the computer is configured to control the display to display an image indicating the next location of the virtual plane and information on a remaining distance between the center point of the shovel and the next location of the virtual plane in an overhead view image of an area surrounding the shovel, and
- wherein the computer is configured to update the information on the remaining distance as the shovel moves.
A construction system for assisting construction work to be performed using a shovel, the shovel including a lower traveling body;
- a traveling hydraulic motor configured to move the lower traveling body;
- an upper turning body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body;
- and an attachment including a boom attached to the upper turning body, an arm attached to the boom, and an end attachment attached to the arm, the construction system comprising:
- a computer including a processor and a memory, the computer being configured to, when the lower traveling body is in motion, output a command to the shovel, the command being a command to control the traveling hydraulic motor to stop a movement of the lower traveling body, upon determining that the lower traveling body has moved a predetermined distance,
- wherein the computer is configured to, before each time an excavation is performed, dynamically determine the predetermined distance while the shovel is in operation,
- wherein the computer is configured to dynamically determine the predetermined distance such that a volume of soil to be load into the end attachment during the excavation to be performed immediately after the shovel moves the predetermined distance equals a volume of the end attachment, and
- wherein the computer is configured to calculate the volume of soil to be loaded into the end attachment based on data on the intended work surface, data on a current ground surface, data on a size of the end attachment, and data on a work start position and a work end position of the excavation.
