Abstract
Provided is an alga belonging to Cyanidiophyceae having a diploid cell and a haploid cell form. Also provided is a nutrient composition containing an alga belonging to Cyanidiophyceae or an extract thereof.
Claims6
An algae culture comprising:
- an algae population consisting of algae belonging to Galdieria or Cyanidium,
- wherein a ratio of the number of haploid cells of the algae to the total number of cells of the haploid cells and diploid cells of the algae contained in the algae culture is 70% to 100%, and
- the algae culture is obtained by isolating a haploid cell which has no rigid cell wall from cells of the algae belonging to Galdieria or Cyanidium, and culturing the isolated haploid cell.
