Abstract
The disclosure provides an oral antiviral supplement composition comprising a lysine, an ascorbic compound, a flavonoid glycoside, a threonine, and a pyridoxine. The disclosure also provides a method of reducing viral replication in a cell comprising treating a virus-infected cell with a composition of the disclosure. The disclosure further provides a method for the treatment and prophylaxis of a viral infection in a patient comprising administering a composition of the disclosure.
Claims17
A method of making an antiviral supplement tablet comprising mixing active ingredients including:
- from about 40% to about 80% by weight of a L-lysine hydrochloride;
- from about 15% to about 35% by combined weight of one or more ascorbic compounds;
- from about 5% to about 20% by weight of one or more flavonoid glycosides, wherein the one or more flavonoid glycosides comprise hesperidin and rutin;
- from about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of L-threonine;
- from about 1% to about 10% by weight of a taurine;
- and
- from about 0.1% to about 2% by weight of pyridoxine hydrochloride, compared to total weight of the active ingredients, with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier to form a composition;
- and
- forming a tablet from the composition.
