Vegetation cutting apparatus

In combination:

• a cutting head having at least one cutting element for severing vegetation, at least a part of the cutting head configured to be driven around an axis to cause the at least one cutting element to move in a cutting path and thereby sever vegetation in the cutting path of the driven at least one cutting element,
• the cutting head configured to be coupled to a rotary driving component and as an incident of the rotary driving component being operated with the cutting head coupled to the rotary driving component, the at least part of the cutting head is caused to be driven around the axis as an incident of which the at least one cutting element moves in the cutting path;
• and
• a coupling system comprising a first core and first and second adaptor assemblies,
• the first and second adaptor assemblies interchangeably usable, one in place of the other, together with the first core, to allow coupling of the cutting head with the rotary driving component having different configurations,
• wherein with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary driving component using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core, a part of each of:
• i) the first core;
• and ii) the first adaptor assembly is engaged with the at least part of the cutting head with at least one of:
• a) the first core;
• and b) the first adaptor assembly keyed directly to the at least part of the cutting head to thereby cause the at least part of the cutting head to move around the axis as a rotary drive to which the cutting head is coupled is operated,
• wherein the cutting head comprises a housing and the at least part of the cutting head comprises a spool to which the at least one cutting element is connected,
• wherein the spool has an elongate bar and the first core has facing surfaces between which at least a part of the elongate bar resides, the part of the elongate bar and facing surfaces cooperating to key the first core to the spool with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary driving component using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core.

In combination:

• a cutting head having at least one cutting element for severing vegetation, at least a part of the cutting head configured to be driven around an axis to cause the at least one cutting element to move in a cutting path and thereby sever vegetation in the cutting path of the driven at least one cutting element,
• the cutting head configured to be coupled to a rotary driving component and as an incident of the rotary driving component being operated with the cutting head coupled to the rotary driving component, the at least part of the cutting head is caused to be driven around the axis as an incident of which the at least one cutting element moves in the cutting path;
• and
• a coupling system comprising a first core and first and second adaptor assemblies,
• the first and second adaptor assemblies interchangeably usable, one in place of the other, together with the first core, to allow coupling of the cutting head with the rotary driving component having different configurations,
• wherein with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary driving component using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core, a part of each of:
• i) the first core;
• and ii) the first adaptor assembly is engaged with the at least part of the cutting head with at least one of:
• a) the first core;
• and b) the first adaptor assembly keyed directly to the at least part of the cutting head to thereby cause the at least part of the cutting head to move around the axis as a rotary drive to which the cutting head is coupled is operated,
• wherein the cutting head comprises a housing and the at least part of the cutting head comprises a spool to which the at least one cutting element is connected,
• wherein the spool has an elongate bar and the first adaptor assembly has facing surfaces between which at least a part of the elongate bar resides, the elongate bar and facing surfaces cooperating to key the first adaptor assembly to the spool with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary driving component using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core.

In combination:

• a cutting head having at least one cutting element for severing vegetation, at least a part of the cutting head configured to be driven around an axis to cause the at least one cutting element to move in a cutting path and thereby sever vegetation in the cutting path of the driven at least one cutting element,
• the cutting head configured to be coupled to a rotary driving component and as an incident of the rotary driving component being operated with the cutting head coupled to the rotary driving component, the at least part of the cutting head is caused to be driven around the axis as an incident of which the at least one cutting element moves in the cutting path;
• and
• a coupling system comprising a first core and first and second adaptor assemblies,
• the first and second adaptor assemblies interchangeably usable, one in place of the other, together with the first core, to allow coupling of the cutting head with the rotary driving component having different configurations,
• wherein with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary driving component using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core, a part of each of:
• i) the first core;
• and ii) the first adaptor assembly is engaged with the at least part of the cutting head with at least one of:
• a) the first core;
• and b) the first adaptor assembly keyed directly to the at least part of the cutting head to thereby cause the at least part of the cutting head to move around the axis as a rotary driving component to which the cutting head is coupled is operated,
• wherein the first adaptor assembly comprises first and second components, the first component connected to the first core and the second component connected to the first component with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary drive using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core,
• wherein the second component defines a male part, the male part having:
• a) a first form;
• and b) a first form of external threads to engage a driving component on the rotary drive with the cutting head coupled to the rotary drive and with the cutting head configured to be coupled to the rotary drive using the first adaptor assembly together with the first core.
