Methods and systems for live streaming recommended content

A method for streaming content, the method comprising:

• streaming content to a plurality of terminal devices from a streaming content platform;
• activating a live react feature during the streaming to enable users of the plurality of terminal devices to send content requests indicating content selected by a respective user;
• and
• during the streaming, providing an asynchronous instant messaging communication for interaction between a first user and a second user.

A method for streaming video, the method comprising:

• streaming a video to a plurality of terminal devices from a video platform;
• activating a live react feature during the streaming to enable users of the plurality of terminal devices to send content requests indicating content selected by a respective user;
• and
• during the streaming, providing an instant messaging communication for interaction between a first user and a second user, wherein:
• the streaming of the video is streaming from the first user to the second user via respective streaming applications, and
• the instant messaging communication includes one or more of texts, emoticons, gifts, or likes.
