Pattern matching tool

A non-transitory computer-readable medium, wherein the non-transitory computer-readable medium is provisioned with program instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a computing platform to:

• obtain a first collection of data libraries associated with a first set of intersection points among a first set of lines in a first two-dimensional (2D) drawing, wherein the first set of intersection points are located at outermost edges of the first 2D drawing;
• obtain a second collection of data libraries associated with a second set of intersection points among a second set of lines in a second 2D drawing, wherein the second set of intersection points are located at outermost edges of the second 2D drawing;
• and
• perform a comparison of (i) at least a portion of the first collection of data libraries associated with the first 2D drawing and (ii) at least a portion of the second collection of data libraries associated with the second 2D drawing in order to determine whether the first 2D drawing and the second 2D drawing represent a same portion of a real-world environment;
• wherein each data library associated with a given set of intersection points includes location information that describes a respective location of each respective intersection point in the given set of intersection points relative to each other intersection point in the given set of intersection points.

A method carried out by a computing platform, the method comprising:

• obtaining a first collection of data libraries associated with a first set of intersection points among a first set of lines in a first two-dimensional (2D) drawing, wherein the first set of intersection points are located at outermost edges of the first 2D drawing;
• obtaining a second collection of data libraries associated with a second set of intersection points among a second set of lines in a second 2D drawing, wherein the second set of intersection points are located at outermost edges of the second 2D drawing;
• and
• performing a comparison of (i) at least a portion of the first collection of data libraries associated with the first 2D drawing and (ii) at least a portion of the second collection of data libraries associated with the second 2D drawing in order to determine whether the first 2D drawing and the second 2D drawing represent a same portion of a real-world environment;
• wherein each data library associated with a given set of intersection points includes location information that describes a respective location of each respective intersection point in the given set of intersection points relative to each other intersection point in the given set of intersection points.
