Abstract
Systems and methods for hailing and using an autonomous storage vehicle. A user uses the storage vehicle to store goods purchased. The storage vehicle carries the goods and stays in a designated area nearby. The storage vehicle goes to the user only when the user calls it. The user meets with the storage vehicle in a meeting area of a parking lot to retrieve the goods.
Claims20
A method for a user to use and manage an autonomous vehicle through an electronic device, comprising:
- presenting a first option in an interface of the electronic device, the first option representing a first order of the user that requests the vehicle to go to a location of the user;
- presenting a second option in the interface, the second option representing a second order of the user that indicates the user selects a designated area of a plurality of designated areas and requests the vehicle to go to the designated area, the plurality of designated areas predetermined before the user starts a process to use and manage the autonomous vehicle through the electronic device;
- presenting a third option in the interface, the third option representing a third order of the user that requests the vehicle to go to a place specified by the user, the location, the designated area, and the place being within a specified distance to a plurality of stores;
- and
- in response to the user selecting one of the first, second, and third options, transmitting a message to a service facility, the service facility sending the vehicle an instruction related to a corresponding one of the first order, the second order, and the third order.

A method for a user to place a hailing request and perform related actions through an electronic device, comprising:
- presenting a first option in an interface of the electronic device, the first option representing a first hailing order of the user that requests a hailed autonomous vehicle to go to a first location of the user;
- presenting a second option in the interface, the second option representing a second hailing order of the user that requests to reserve an autonomous vehicle that is parked at a second location, the second location arranged for keeping and servicing the autonomous vehicle, the first and second locations being within a specified distance close to a plurality of stores;
- in response to the user selecting the first or second option, transmitting a message to a service facility, the service facility contacting the hailed autonomous vehicle or the autonomous vehicle at the second location based on a corresponding one of the first and second hailing orders.
A method for managing an autonomous vehicle, comprising:
- parking the vehicle at a vehicle station within a first specified distance to a first store, the vehicle staying at the vehicle station before being assigned to a user;
- selecting a waiting area in or within a second specified distance to a second store based on a location of the user, and ordering the vehicle to stay in the waiting area waiting for the user;
- in response to receiving a first order from the user, ordering the vehicle to go to a meeting area in or within a third specified distance to a parking lot;
- and
- parking the vehicle in the meeting area in response to receiving the first order from the user.
