User profile based on clustering tiered descriptors

A method comprising:

• identifying a plurality of descriptors reflective of a user from a metadata model, wherein first descriptors of the plurality of descriptors correspond to a first item, and second descriptors of the plurality of descriptors corresponds to a second item;
• associating the first descriptors with the second descriptors to form a cluster;
• wherein the association is based on at least one of:
• (i) the first descriptors being in a same metadata tier as the second descriptors in the metadata model and (ii) the first descriptors matching the second descriptors;
• in response to the association;
• generating a user profile reflective of the user;
• accessing contextual data associated with the user profile to identify an activity for the user;
• and
• based at least on a determination that a phase of the user accessing the first and second items is not anomalous, including in the user profile record an association between the between the cluster of descriptors and the activity of the user.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon instructions executable by a processor to cause a computing system to carry out operations comprising:

• identifying a plurality of descriptors reflective of a user from a metadata model, wherein first descriptors of the plurality of descriptors correspond to a first item, and second descriptors of the plurality of descriptors corresponds to a second item;
• associating the first descriptors with the second descriptors to form a cluster;
• wherein the association is based on at least one of:
• (i) the first descriptors being in a same metadata tier as the second descriptors in the metadata model and (ii) the first descriptors matching the second descriptors;
• in response to the association;
• generating a user profile reflective of the user;
• accessing contextual data associated with the user profile to identify an activity for the user;
• and
• based at least on a determination that a phase of the user accessing the first and second items is not anomalous, including in the user profile record an association between the between the cluster of descriptors and the activity of the user.
