Step measurement device, measurement method, and storage medium

A measurement method performed by a measurement device having an accelerometer, the measurement method comprising:

• acquiring data of an acceleration waveform during walking or running of a user from the accelerometer;
• identifying a time width between a first timing and a second timing based on the data of the acceleration waveform, the acceleration waveform changing from a negative value to a positive value at the first timing, the acceleration waveform changing from a positive value to a negative value at the second timing;
• and
• counting steps based on the acceleration waveform,
• wherein, upon a predetermined condition being satisfied, the counting includes counting the acceleration waveform whose time width is greater than a predetermined threshold as two steps during the walking or the running and count the acceleration waveform whose time width is smaller than the predetermined threshold as one step during the walking or the running.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program executable by at least one processor in a measurement device having an accelerometer, the program causing the at least one processor to perform:

• acquiring data of an acceleration waveform during walking or running of a user from the accelerometer;
• identifying a time width between a first timing and a second timing based on the data of the acceleration waveform, the acceleration waveform changing from a negative value to a positive value at the first timing, the acceleration waveform changing from a positive value to a negative value at the second timing;
• and
• counting steps based on the acceleration waveform,
• wherein, upon a predetermined condition being satisfied, the counting includes counting the acceleration waveform whose time width is greater than a predetermined threshold as two steps during the walking or the running and count the acceleration waveform whose time width is smaller than the predetermined threshold as one step during the walking or the running.
