Abstract
A system and method for applying an insulative coating to an inner surface of a coiled tubing. A tractor is mounted inside a coiled tubing, wherein the tractor includes a tractor body having a tractor propulsion system; and a spray head connected to the tractor body. The spray head is propelled along approximately an entire length of the coiled tubing, wherein propelling includes spraying an insulative coating on an interior surface of the coiled tube, the coating, when applied to the interior surface of the coiled tube and cured, including at least 50 percent Hydro-NM-Oxide.
Claims20
A tractor, comprising:
- a tractor body, wherein the tractor body includes a tractor propulsion system;
- and
- a spray head connected to the tractor body, wherein the spray head directs an insulative coating onto an interior surface of a coiled tube,
- wherein the insulative coating, when applied to the interior surface of the coiled tube and cured, includes at least 50 percent Hydro-NM-Oxide.
A method comprising:
- mounting a tractor inside a coiled tubing, wherein the tractor includes:
- a tractor body having a tractor propulsion system;
- and
- a spray head connected to the tractor body;
- and
- propelling the spray head of the tractor along approximately an entire length of the coiled tubing, wherein propelling includes spraying an insulative coating on an interior surface of the coiled tube, the insulative coating, when applied to the interior surface of the coiled tube and cured, including at least 50 percent Hydro-NM-Oxide.
A system, comprising:
- a coating pump;
- and
- a tractor, the tractor including:
- a tractor body that fits within a coiled tube, wherein the tractor body includes a tractor propulsion system;
- and
- a spray head connected to the coating pump and the tractor body, wherein the spray head receives an insulative coating from the coating pump and directs the insulative coating onto an interior surface of a coiled tube,
- wherein the insulative coating, when applied to the interior surface of the coiled tube and cured, includes at least 50 percent Hydro-NM-Oxide.
