Abstract
The present invention provides an anti-inflammatory agent containing a rare fatty acid such as hydroxylated fatty acid, oxo fatty acid and the like, and further, food, pharmaceutical product and the like containing the anti-inflammatory agent.

A method for inducing differentiation of macrophage into M2 macrophage, comprising administering to a patient an effective amount of a fatty acid, wherein the fatty acid is 13-hydroxy-cis-9, cis-15-octadecadienoic acid or 13-oxo-cis-6, cis-9-octadecadienoic acid.
