Abstract
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for performing endovascular repair of atrioventricular and other cardiac valves in the heart. A delivery device for staged deployment of an implantable device to a target area. The delivery device includes a deployment handle and one or more lock lines extending from the deployment handle through the catheter to the implantable device, the one or ore lock lines being configured to engage with the implantable device to allow locking of the implantable device.
Claims20
A delivery system for delivery of an implantable device to a native heart valve, comprising:
- a delivery catheter having a proximal end and a distal end;
- an implantable device coupled to the distal end of the delivery catheter, the implantable device having a first distal element and a first gripping element disposed opposite the first distal element, the first distal element and first gripping element each being moveable upon actuation thereof to capture valve tissue therebetween;
- and
- a delivery device coupled to the proximal end of the delivery catheter, the delivery device comprising:
- a delivery device housing defining a housing interior and having a housing shaft,
- a gripper line control assembly having a first gripper line, a gripper line control, and a gripper line hub, the gripper line control being slidably coupled to the housing shaft, the gripper line hub being coupled to the gripper line control and extending proximally therefrom and at least partially within the housing interior, and the first gripper line extending through the delivery catheter and being coupled to the first gripping element and the gripper line hub, wherein sliding the gripper line control along the housing shaft moves the gripper line hub and the first gripper line in a proximal-distal direction so as to actuate the first gripping element, and
- an actuator rod control assembly having an actuator rod, an internally threaded actuator knob, and an externally threaded slider, the actuator knob being rotatably coupled to the housing at a location proximal to the housing shaft and being rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the delivery device, the slider being rotationally constrained within the housing interior, and the actuator rod extending through the delivery catheter and being coupled to the first distal element and the slider, wherein the slider is threadedly coupled to the actuator knob such that rotation of the actuator knob translates the slider and the actuator rod in the proximal-distal direction so as to actuate the first distal element.
A delivery system for delivery of an implantable device to a native heart valve, comprising:
- a delivery catheter having a proximal end and a distal end;
- an implantable device coupled to the distal end of the delivery catheter, the implantable device having a distal element and a gripping element disposed opposite the distal element, the distal element and the gripping element each being moveable upon actuation thereof to capture valve tissue therebetween;
- and
- a delivery device defining a longitudinal axis extending between a proximal end and a distal end thereof, the distal end of the delivery device being coupled to the proximal end of the delivery catheter comprising:
- a shaft extending at least partially about the longitudinal axis of the delivery device and having an exterior surface and an interior surface defining a longitudinal extending channel,
- a gripper line control assembly having a gripper line, a gripper line control, and a gripper line hub, the gripper line control being slidably coupled to the shaft and being at least partially disposed along the exterior surface of the shaft, the gripper line hub being coupled to the gripper line control and extending proximally therefrom and at least partially within the longitudinally extending channel, and the gripper line extending through the delivery catheter and being coupled to the gripping element and the gripper line hub, wherein sliding the gripper line control along the shaft moves the gripper line hub and the first gripper line in a proximal-distal direction to actuate the gripping element, and
- an actuator rod control assembly coupled to a proximal end of the shaft and having an actuator knob, a slider, and an actuator rod, the actuator rod extending through the delivery catheter and being coupled to the slider and the distal element, the actuator knob being rotatable about the longitudinal axis, and the slider being translatable along the longitudinal axis of the delivery device and operatively coupled to the actuator knob such that rotation of the actuator knob translates the slider in the proximal-distal direction to actuate the distal element.
A delivery system for delivery of an implantable device to a native heart valve, comprising:
- a delivery catheter having a proximal end and a distal end;
- an implantable device coupled to the distal end of the delivery catheter, the implantable device having a distal element and a gripping element disposed opposite the distal element, the distal element and gripping element each being moveable upon actuation thereof to capture valve tissue therebetween;
- and
- a delivery device defining a longitudinal axis extending between a proximal end and a distal end thereof, the distal end of the delivery device being coupled to the proximal end of the delivery catheter, the delivery device comprising:
- a shaft extending at least partially about the longitudinal axis of the delivery device,
- a gripper line control assembly having a gripper line control and a gripper line, the gripper line extending through the delivery catheter and being coupled to the gripper line control and the gripping element, the gripper line control being slidably coupled to the shaft and moveable in proximal-distal direction relative thereto to actuate the gripping element, and
- an actuator rod control assembly coupled to a proximal end of the shaft and having an actuator knob, a slider, and an actuator rod, the actuator rod extending through the delivery catheter and being coupled to the slider and the distal element, the actuator knob being rotatable about the longitudinal axis, and the slider being translatable along the longitudinal axis of the delivery device and operatively coupled to the actuator knob such that rotation of the actuator knob translates the slider in the proximal-distal direction to actuate the distal element.
