Imaging apparatus

An imaging apparatus comprising:

• an imaging circuit;
• and
• a memory that stores a program which, when executed by a CPU, causes the imaging apparatus to function as:
• a conversion unit configured to convert a sound signal acquired by a microphone which is connected to the imaging apparatus and includes a plurality of microphone elements disposed at respective predetermined angles into stereophonic sound data;
• an extraction unit configured to extract a sound signal of a specific sound source from the sound signal acquired by the microphone and convert the sound signal of the specific sound source into omnidirectional data of the stereophonic sound data;
• a combination processing unit configured to combine the stereophonic sound data acquired by the conversion unit and the omnidirectional data acquired by the extraction unit and output combined sound data;
• a recording unit configured to record the sound data output from the combination processing unit and image data acquired by the imaging circuit into a storage;
• a setting unit configured to set whether to record the sound signal of the specific sound source;
• and
• a control unit configured to, when a setting of not recording the sound signal of the specific sound source is made, performs a control such that combining processing of the omnidirectional data with the stereophonic sound data acquired by the conversion unit is stopped, and
• wherein, when the setting of not recording the sound signal of the specific sound source is made, the stereophonic sound data not combined with the omnidirectional data is recorded by the recording unit.
