Abstract
A fire apparatus includes a chassis and a ladder assembly coupled to the chassis. The ladder assembly includes a first ladder section, a second ladder section slidably coupled to the first ladder section, a first support pivotably coupled to the first ladder section, and a second support fixedly coupled to the first ladder section. The first support and the second support are each configured to limit vertical movement of the second ladder section relative to the first ladder section.
Claims19
A fire apparatus comprising:
- a chassis;
- and
- a ladder assembly coupled to the chassis, the ladder assembly comprising:
- a first ladder section;
- a second ladder section slidably coupled to the first ladder section;
- a first support pivotably coupled to the first ladder section;
- and
- a second support fixedly coupled to the first ladder section,
- wherein the first support and the second support are each configured to limit vertical movement of the second ladder section relative to the first ladder section.
A fire apparatus comprising:
- a chassis;
- and
- a ladder assembly coupled to the chassis, the ladder assembly comprising:
- a first ladder section;
- a second ladder section movable relative to the first ladder section between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration;
- a first support coupled to the first ladder section and defining a first engagement surface;
- a second support coupled to the first ladder section and defining a second engagement surface;
- and
- a third support coupled to the first ladder section;
- wherein the first engagement surface engages the second ladder section and the second engagement surface is spaced from the second ladder section when the second ladder section is in the retracted configuration;
- wherein the second engagement surface engages the second ladder section and the first engagement surface is spaced from the second ladder section when the second ladder section is in the extended configuration;
- and
- wherein the third support engages the second ladder section in both the extended configuration and the retracted configuration.
A load transfer station for an aerial ladder assembly including a first ladder section and a second ladder section, the load transfer station comprising:
- a first support configured to be pivotably coupled to the first ladder section and defining a first engagement surface;
- and
- a second support configured to be pivotably coupled to the first ladder section and defining a second engagement surface,
- wherein the second engagement surface is configured to slidably engage a top surface of a base rail of the second ladder section.
