Abstract
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for increasing suberin production in plants.
Claims19
An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence:
- i) encoding a MYB41 amino acid sequence with at least 80% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:
- 14 or ii) set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 13 or SEQ ID NO:
- 15, wherein the nucleic acid sequence is operably linked to a nucleic acid sequence encoding a heterologous promoter, wherein expression of the isolated nucleic acid molecule in a plant results in increased levels of suberin as compared to wild-type check plants lacking the isolated nucleic acid molecule, wherein the heterologous promoter is a promoter of a FACT gene or a promoter of a HORST gene.
