Abstract
An acid composition for acidizing a wellbore including at least one acid, an alkenylphenone, and a polycyclic diquaternary quinoxaline, and a method using the acid composition to reduce corrosion within a wellbore. The polycyclic diquaternary quinoxaline having the structure: where X− comprises a counter anion, R′ comprises an alkyl aryl group, and R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 comprise hydrogen or a substitution group, the alkenylphenone the general structure: where R1 is an unsubstituted or an inertly substituted aryl having 6 carbon atoms to 10 carbon atoms, and R2 can be a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6 alkyl group.
Claims17
An acid composition for acidizing a wellbore, the composition comprising:
- at least one acid;
- an effective amount of an alkenylphenone;
- an effective amount of polycyclic diquaternary quinoxaline;
- the polycyclic diquaternary quinoxaline having the general structure:
- where X− comprises a counter anion,
- R′ comprises an alkyl aryl group, and
- R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 comprise hydrogen or a substitution group;
- the alkenylphenone having the general structure:
- where R1 is an unsubstituted or an inertly substituted aryl having 6 carbon atoms to 10 carbon atoms, and
- R2 can be a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6 alkyl group.
An inhibited acid composition compatible with stainless steel tankers for transporting the inhibited acid composition, the composition comprising:
- an acid;
- an effective amount of alkenylphenone;
- an effective amount of polycyclic diquaternary quinoxaline, and
- wherein the inhibited acid composition is transported in stainless steel tankers,
- wherein the alkenylphenone having the general structure:
- where R1 is an unsubstituted or an inertly substituted aryl having 6 carbon atoms to 10 carbon atoms and R2 can be a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6 alkyl group;
- the polycyclic diquaternary quinoxaline having the general structure:
- wherein X− comprises a counter anion,
- R′ comprises an alkyl aryl group, and
- R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 comprise hydrogen or a substitution group.
