A thiophene compound represented by chemical formula (I) or chemical formula (II):

• wherein R1, R2, and R3 are identical or different and represent a hydrogen atom, —OR4, —SR4, —C(═O)—R4, a phenyl group, a 2-thienyl group, or a 3-thienyl group, R2 may be linked with R1 or R3 to form a ring containing a sulfur atom, together with two thiophene ring-forming carbon atoms to which R2 and either R1 or R3 are bonded, R4s are identical or different and represent a C1-5 alkyl group, and Y1 represents a single bond or a C1-10 alkylene group;

• wherein R5, R6, and R7 are identical or different and represent a hydrogen atom, —OR4, —SR4, —C(═O)—R4, a phenyl group, a 2-thienyl group, or a 3-thienyl group, R5 may be linked with R6 to form a ring containing a sulfur atom, together with two thiophene ring-forming carbon atoms to which R5 and R6 are bonded, R4s are identical or different and represent a C1-5 alkyl group, and Y1 represents a single bond or a C1-10, alkylene group.
