Abstract
A method and apparatus for generating a wave in a body of water may include altering a flow of water as it is urged through an inlet, contoured passage, and outlet. For example, a primary flow of water may be altered so that one or more secondary flows are created at angles to the direction of primary flow.
Claims5
An apparatus for generating a wave in a body of water, the apparatus comprising:
- an inlet configured to receive a flow of water;
- an outlet configured to discharge a wave including the water from the flow of water;
- and
- a contoured passage coupled between the inlet and the outlet;
- wherein the outlet includes:
- a trough shaping edge and an opposing shaping edge opposite the trough shaping edge, the opposing shaping edge disposed downstream of the trough shaping edge.
