Abstract
In a method for stimulation and treatment, a biological structure is stimulated by a high power time-varying magnetic field. The stimulation is followed by at least a partial muscle contraction. The methods can be used e.g. in physiotherapy, urology or urogynaecology.
Claims20
A device for treating a patient, the device comprising:
- a first applicator comprising:
- a first magnetic field generating coil, wherein the first magnetic field generating coil is circular and flat;
- a first device configured to provide a flow of air to the first magnetic field generating coil;
- a second applicator comprising a second magnetic field generating coil;
- an energy source;
- an energy storage device coupled to the energy source;
- a first switching device configured to control energy transfer from the energy storage device to the first magnetic field generating coil such that the first magnetic field generating coil generates a first time-varying magnetic field having a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.1 Tesla to 7 Tesla;
- a second switching device configured to control energy transfer from the energy storage device to the second magnetic field generating coil such that the second magnetic field generating coil generates a second time-varying magnetic field having a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.1 Tesla to 7 Tesla;
- wherein the first applicator and the second applicator are configured to be positioned on a body part comprising an abdomen, a thigh, or buttocks;
- wherein the first applicator and the second applicator are configured to be maintained in contact with the patient by a belt;
- wherein the first applicator and the second applicator are configured to be positioned in a synchronized manner.
