Event detection, event notification, data retrieval, and associated devices, systems, and methods

A system, comprising:

• an application program configured to:
• cause, responsive to an event detected by a first device, text data including at least one of a time of the event, a location of the event, or an identification of a detected object of the event to be conveyed from the first device to at least one second device remote from the first device without other data including image data, video data, audio data, or any combination thereof, associated with the event being conveyed to the at least one second device with the text data;
• and
• cause, in response to user input associated with the previously conveyed text data, at least some of the other data to be conveyed over a metered connection from the first device to at least one of the at least one second device or a third device.
