Gas lift valve remanufacturing process and apparatus produced thereby

A replacement assembly for remanufacture of a used gas lift valve, the used gas lift valve having a used housing, a used bellows, and a used bellows adapter, the replacement assembly comprising:

• a housing adapter having a bore therethrough and having first and second ends, the first end having first thread, the second end having second thread and having a first mating surface, the first thread being configured to thread to a first separable component for the used housing, the second thread being configured to thread to a second separable component for the used housing;
• a replacement bellows being configured to replace the used bellows, the replacement bellows having first and second mating ends, the first mating end being affixed to the first mating surface of the housing adapter;
• and
• a replacement bellows adapter being configured to replace the used bellows adapter, the replacement bellows adapter being affixed to the second mating end of the replacement bellows.

A remanufacturable gas lift valve, comprising:

• a first housing portion having a dome chamber;
• a housing adapter having a bore therethrough and having first and second ends, the bore configured to communicate with the dome chamber, the first end having first thread configured to thread to the first housing portion, the second end having second thread and having a first mating surface;
• a bellows assembly being at least partially replaceable and comprising:
• a bellows having first and second mating ends, the first mating end being affixed to the first mating surface of the housing adapter;
• and
• a bellows adapter being affixed to the second mating end of the bellows, the bellows adapter comprising a cushion rod extending therefrom, the bellows disposed about the cushion rod, the cushion rod being configured to insert at least partially in the bore of the housing adapter;
• and
• a second housing portion configured to position about the bellows assembly and being configured to thread to the second thread of the housing adapter.

A remanufacturable gas lift valve, comprising:

• a first housing portion having a dome chamber;
• a housing adapter having a bore therethrough and having first and second ends, the bore configured to communicate with the dome chamber, the first end having first thread configured to thread to the first housing portion, the second end having second thread and having a first mating surface;
• a bellows assembly being at least partially replaceable and comprising:
• a bellows having first and second mating ends, the first mating end being affixed to the first mating surface of the housing adapter;
• and
• a bellows adapter being affixed to the second mating end of the bellows, wherein the housing adapter has a cushion rod threaded to an internal thread of the bore, the cushion rod extending beyond the second end of the housing adapter, the bellows disposed about the cushion rod, the cushion rod being configured to insert at least partially in an opening of the bellows adapter;
• and
• a second housing portion configured to position about the bellows assembly and being configured to thread to the second thread of the housing adapter.
