Automated hand

An automated prosthetic hand comprising:

• a. a palm;
• b. two or more digits extending from the palm;
• and
• C. one or more motors configured to cause at least one of the digits to move;
• wherein the automated prosthetic hand is configured to operate when submerged in water without needing to use a glove or waterproof covering;
• and wherein the two or more digits extend from respective sealed knuckle joints;
• wherein the palm comprises a metacarpal brace;
• and wherein the metacarpal brace is formed of a material having a DMTA damping factor of between 0.05 and 0.8 over a temperature range of −20° C. to 100° C.

An automated prosthetic hand comprising:

• a. a palm;
• b. two or more digits extending from the palm;
• and
• c. one or more motors configured to cause at least one of the digits to move;
• wherein the automated prosthetic hand is configured to operate when submerged in water without needing to use a glove or a waterproof covering;
• wherein the automated prosthetic hand comprises a wrist joint configured to attach the palm to a lower arm member comprising a sleeve and wherein the wrist joint is configured to form a watertight attachment to the sleeve;
• and wherein the one or more motors comprise two or more motors and two or more of the two or more motors are individually sealed and located in the two or more digits.
