Tissue protection systems and methods

A system for treating tissue of a subject, comprising:

• a probe configured to be inserted into a patient and comprising an energy source configured to direct an energy to a first tissue to treat the first tissue;
• an imaging device configured to be inserted into the patient and further configured to acquire image data from the first tissue and a second tissue in proximity to the first tissue;
• and
• a processor configured to receive data from the energy source and the imaging device, the processor further configured to:
• cause provision on a display of at least one image based on the image data from the first tissue and the second tissue;
• cause provision on the display of an overlay on the at least one image, the overlay comprising a treatment profile for treating the first tissue with the energy from the energy source;
• process the image data from the second tissue;
• determine a response of the second tissue to the energy source directed to the first tissue;
• receive a user input with instructions corresponding to an adjusted treatment profile;
• adjust the treatment profile based on the user input and determine the adjusted treatment profile based on the response of the second tissue to the energy source directed to the first tissue;
• cause provision on the display of a modified overlay on the at least one image, the modified overlay determined based on the adjusted treatment profile;
• prompt the user to accept or modify the adjusted treatment profile on the display;
• and
• cause the energy source to complete treatment in response to the user accepting or modifying the adjusted treatment profile.
