Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, by a radio frequency (RF) mechanical device, signals relating to one or more crossed-dipole radiating elements of an antenna system, performing, by the RF mechanical device, polarization rotation of the signals to derive output signals having polarizations that are rotated in a manner that mimics physical rotation of the one or more crossed-dipole radiating elements, and providing, by the RF mechanical device, the output signals to enable avoidance of interference. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A polarization rotation system, comprising:
- a radio frequency (RF) device;
- and
- a plurality of reciprocal ports for the RF device, the plurality of reciprocal ports including a first pair of reciprocal ports as inputs for the RF device, and a second pair of reciprocal ports as outputs for the RF device, the RF device being configured with overlapping arched transmission lines, wherein relative motion between the overlapping arched transmission lines facilitates polarization rotation of signals.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a radio frequency (RF) device, signals relating to one or more crossed-dipole radiating elements of an antenna system, the RF device having overlapping arched transmission lines;
- and
- performing, by the RF device, polarization rotation of the signals via relative motion between the overlapping arched transmission lines to derive output signals having polarizations that are rotated in a manner that mimics physical rotation of the one or more crossed-dipole radiating elements.
A communications system, comprising:
- an antenna having an array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements;
- and
- a device arranged to communicatively couple with the array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements, the device being configured with overlapping arched transmission lines, wherein relative motion between the overlapping arched transmission lines facilitates polarization rotation of signals relating to the array, the polarization rotation being a virtual rotation of one or more orthogonally-polarized radiating elements in the array.
