Timing controller and display device including the same

An electronic device comprising:

• a display device comprising:
• a display panel driven in units of frames, and including a plurality of pixels in a display region defined therein, wherein the plurality of pixels emits light based on an emission signal;
• and
• a timing controller which receives an image signal and drives the display panel,
• wherein the timing controller includes:
• a gray level setting circuit which calculates a plurality of representative gray levels by dividing the display region into a plurality of regions, based on the image signal;
• a signal determining circuit which receives a plurality of lookup tables storing a duty ratio of the emission signal and selects one of the plurality of lookup tables based on a lookup table comparison histogram, wherein the lookup table comparison histogram is generated based on the plurality of lookup tables and the plurality of representative gray levels;
• and
• a correcting circuit which controls the duty ratio of the emission signal provided during a frame, based on the one of the plurality of lookup tables.
