Health monitoring and communications device

An article of manufacture including a tangible, non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a processor of a device attached to a user or the user's clothing, cause the device to perform operations comprising:

• communicating with and receiving data from one or more medical devices comprising a plurality of alcohol monitoring devices;
• and
• changing, by the device, functionality of the device depending upon the one or more medical devices with which the device communicates,
• wherein the device has a length, a width, and a thickness,
• wherein the device comprises:
• electronic circuitry, a first power source, and a display;
• and
• a thickness of 2″ or less,
• wherein the electronic circuitry has a thickness of 25% or less of the thickness of the device, or 25%-50% of the thickness of the device, or 75% or less of the thickness of the device, and
• wherein the functionality of the device comprises locking doors of a vehicle and unlocking doors of the vehicle when a measured input to at least one of the plurality of alcohol monitoring devices falls below or exceeds a predetermined threshold.
