Abstract
An air turbine starter system of an aircraft includes an air turbine starter having a data acquisition system disposed thereon. The data acquisition system includes a data acquisition controller, a memory device, and a set of starter sensors.
Claims20
An air turbine starter system for starting an engine on an aircraft, comprising:
- an air turbine starter, the air turbine starter including a housing defining a flow path;
- a data acquisition (DAQ) system at least partially located within the flow path, the DAQ system including:
- a DAQ controller;
- and
- a DAQ memory device, and communicatively coupled to the DAQ controller;
- and
- a starter sensor communicatively coupled to the DAQ controller, configured to sense an operating parameter of the air turbine starter and provide a respective starter sensor signal indicative of a value of the operating parameter to the DAQ controller,
- wherein the DAQ controller is configured to determine the value of the operating parameter based on the respective starter sensor signal, and to store the value in the DAQ memory device.
