Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a lithium secondary battery. Since the lithium secondary battery according to the present disclosure includes a lithium transition metal oxide having a stabilized lattice structure with a hetero-element introduced therein, gas generation during charging and discharging can be suppressed, and improved safety and lifespan can be achieved.
Claims10
A lithium secondary battery, comprising:
- a positive electrode comprising a positive electrode material layer containing a positive electrode active material, a positive electrode additive, a conductive material, and a binder;
- a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode material layer containing a negative electrode active material, a conductive material, and a binder;
- a separator;
- and
- an electrolyte;
- wherein the positive electrode additive comprises a lithium transition metal oxide of the following Chemical Formula 1:
- Li6Co1-x-yZnxMyO4 [Chemical Formula 1]
- in Chemical Formula 1,
- M is a group 2 element, a group 13 element, a group 14 element, a 5th period transition metal, or a 6th period transition metal,
- x is 0.01 to 0.7,
- y is 0.01 to 0.2, and
- 0.05≤(x+y)≤0.80.
