Abstract

An adhesive element is applied before the artificial eyelash extension system is packaged for sale to a user. A method for applying artificial eyelash extensions is also described.
Claims26
An artificial eyelash system comprising:
- a plurality of eyelash segments;
- and
- a package configured to store the plurality of eyelash segments prior to sale to a user,
- wherein a width of each of the plurality of eyelash segments is a maximum of one third a width of the user's natural eyelashes,
- wherein each of the plurality of eyelash segments comprises:
- a plurality of eyelash filaments having an upward-facing surface and a downward-facing surface, each of the plurality of eyelash filaments comprising a base and a tip;
- and
- an adhesive element disposed on the upward-facing surface of the plurality of eyelash filaments at a location between the bases and half an average length of the plurality of eyelash filaments such that no portion of the adhesive element extends beyond half an average length of the plurality of eyelash filaments, wherein the adhesive element is:
- spaced apart from the bases of the plurality of eyelash filaments in a direction of a length of the plurality of eyelash filaments,
- adapted to adhere to an underside of the user's natural eyelashes without application of heat to the adhesive element,
- adapted to adhere to an underside of the user's natural eyelashes without application of additional adhesive to the plurality of eyelash filaments or the user's natural eyelashes, and
- applied before the plurality of eyelash segments are placed in the package;
- wherein each of the plurality of eyelash segments further comprises a support strip and each of the plurality of eyelash filament bases is attached to the support strip.

An artificial eyelash system comprising:
- two or more eyelash extensions;
- and
- a package configured to store the two or more eyelash extensions prior to sale to a user,
- wherein each of the two or more eyelash extensions comprises:
- a plurality of eyelash filaments having an upward-facing surface and a downward-facing surface, each of the plurality of eyelash filaments comprising a base and a tip;
- and
- an adhesive element disposed on the upward-facing surface of the plurality of eyelash filaments at a location between the bases and half an average length of the plurality of eyelash filaments such that no portion of the adhesive element extends beyond half an average length of the plurality of eyelash filaments, wherein the adhesive element is:
- spaced apart from the bases in a direction of a length of the plurality of eyelash filaments,
- adapted to adhere to an underside of the user's natural eyelashes without application of heat to the adhesive element,
- adapted to adhere to an underside of the user's natural eyelashes without application of additional adhesive to the plurality of eyelash filaments or the user's natural eyelashes, and
- applied before the two or more eyelash extensions are placed in the package;
- wherein each of the two or more eyelash extensions further comprises a support strip and each of the plurality of eyelash filament bases is attached to the support strip.
