Abstract
In a method of media streaming in a client device, a media stream carrying media content is received. The media content from the media stream is presented. A request that the client device provide media asset information is received from a server device and according to a bidirectional protocol for immersive media distribution. The media asset information is sent to the server device by the client device and according to the bidirectional protocol. The media asset information indicates at least one media asset location of a media asset that is accessible to the client device.
Claims16
A method of media streaming in a client device, comprising:
- receiving a media stream carrying media content;
- presenting the media content from the media stream;
- receiving, from a server device and according to a bidirectional protocol for immersive media distribution, a request that the client device provide media asset information;
- and
- sending, by the client device and according to the bidirectional protocol, the media asset information to the server device, wherein
- the media asset information indicates at least one media asset that is accessible to the client device,
- the media asset information includes a current state of an asset type and one of a server assigned identifier or an asset uniform resource identifier (URI) that enables the server device to share the at least one media asset with another client device, and
- the media asset information includes a list of types of media assets that are sharable and a URI for each of the at least one media asset that is cached in an immutable storage.
A client device for immersive media processing, comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to:
- receive a media stream carrying media content;
- present the media content from the media stream;
- receive, from a server device and according to a bidirectional protocol for immersive media distribution, a request that the client device provide media asset information;
- and
- send, according to the bidirectional protocol, the media asset information to the server device, wherein
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions which when executed by at least one processor in a client device cause the client device to perform:
- receiving a media stream carrying media content;
- presenting the media content from the media stream;
- receiving, from a server device and according to a bidirectional protocol for immersive media distribution, a request that the client device provide media asset information;
- and
- sending, by the client device and according to the bidirectional protocol, the media asset information to the server device, wherein
