Abstract
A computing system detects activation of a service application on a computing device of a user and performs a selection process to select a service provider to provide service for the user before receiving a request for service from the computing device of the user. Before receiving the request for service from the computing device of the user, the system transmits service provider information corresponding to the selected service provider to the computing device of the user. Subsequent to performing the selection process, the system receives the request for service, and transmits an invitation for providing service for the user to a provider device of the selected service provider.
Claims18
A network computer system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memory resources storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- communicate with a plurality of service provider devices to determine a location of each service provider device;
- determine, based at least in part on the location of each service provider device, a set of service providers that are available to fulfill service requests;
- before receiving a potential service request from a computing device of a user, (i) determine a destination location for the potential service request, (ii) predict an estimated time for the user to arrive at the destination location based at least in part on the set of available service providers and the location of the plurality of service provider devices, (iii) transmit information corresponding to the estimated time to arrive at the destination location to the computing device of the user for display via a service application, (iv) determine a likelihood of one or more of the available service providers accepting the potential service request of the user based on the destination location for the request, and (v) perform a selection process to preselect, based on the determined likelihood, one of the available service providers to provide service for the user based at least in part on the location of the service provider;
- subsequent to performing the selection process, receive, from the computing device of the user, a request for service;
- and
- transmit, to a provider device of a preselected service provider, an invitation for providing service for the user.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a network computer system, cause the one or more processors to:
- communicate with a plurality of service provider devices to determine a location of each service provider device;
- determine, based at least in part on the location of each service provider device, a set of service providers that are available to fulfill service requests;
- before receiving a potential service request from a computing device of a user, (i) determine a destination location for the potential service request, (ii) predict an estimated time for the user to arrive at the destination location based at least in part on the set of available service providers and the location of the plurality of service provider devices, (iii) transmit information corresponding to the estimated time to arrive at the destination location to the computing device of the user for display via a service application, (iv) determine a likelihood of one or more of the available service providers accepting the potential service request of the user based on the destination location for the request, and (v) perform a selection process to preselect, based on the determined likelihood, one of the available service providers to provide service for the user based at least in part on the location of the service provider;
- subsequent to performing the selection process, receive, from the computing device of the user, a request for service;
- and
- transmit, to a provider device of a preselected service provider, an invitation for providing service for the user.
A computer-implemented method of managing transport, a method being performed by one or more processors and comprising:
- communicating with a plurality of service provider devices to determine a location of each service provider device;
- determining, based at least in part on the location of each service provider device, a set of service providers that are available to fulfill service requests;
- before receiving a potential service request from a computing device of a user, (i) determining a destination location for the potential service request, (ii) predicting an estimated time for the user to arrive at the destination location based at least in part on the set of available service providers and the location of the plurality of service provider devices, (iii) transmitting information corresponding to the estimated time to arrive at the destination location to the computing device of the user for display via a service application, (iv) determining a likelihood of one or more of the available service providers accepting the potential service request of the user based on the destination location for the request, and (v) performing a selection process to preselect, based on the determined likelihood, one of the available service providers to provide service for the user based at least in part on the location of the service provider;
- subsequent to performing the selection process, receiving, from the computing device of the user, a request for service;
- and
- transmitting, to a provider device of a preselected service provider, an invitation for providing service for the user.
