Abstract
A downhole magnetic tool for use in a wellbore includes a mandrel and a magnet assembly coupled to the mandrel. The magnet assembly includes a magnet retainer having a chamber and a magnet disposed in the chamber. A bracket is used to retain the magnet in the chamber. The magnet assembly also includes one or more apertures configured to engage a magnet removal tool.

A downhole magnetic tool for use in a wellbore, the tool comprising:
- a mandrel including a slot having a groove;
- and
- a plurality of magnet assemblies coupled to the mandrel, each magnet assembly having:
- a magnet retainer having a chamber and a spline for engaging the groove, whereby the magnet assembly is movably coupled to the mandrel;
- a magnet disposed in the chamber;
- a bracket for retaining the magnet in the chamber;
- and
- one or more apertures configured to engage a magnet removal tool.

A downhole magnetic tool for use in a wellbore, the tool comprising:
- a mandrel including a slot having a groove;
- and
- a magnet assembly coupled to the mandrel, the magnet assembly having:
- a magnet retainer having a chamber and a spline for engaging the groove, whereby the magnet assembly is movably coupled to the mandrel;
- a magnet disposed in the chamber and at least partially disposed in the slot;
- and
- a bracket for retaining the magnet in the chamber, wherein the bracket is at least partially disposed in a recess formed in the magnet retainer.
