Abstract
A compound having the formula (1), (2), (3) or (4), or combinations thereof, for use in the prevention or treatment of dehydration, and/or in the treatment of diarrhea, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are independently, a long chain fatty acid having between 16 and 20 carbons.

A method for the prevention or treatment of dehydration due to diarrhea in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising orally administering to the subject a compound having a formula selected from the group consisting of:
- or combinations thereof, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are independently, a long chain fatty acid having from 16 to 20 carbons to the subject.
