Abstract
A fish stick includes a light emitting component, such as a lighted tip, near the leading end of the fish stick. The lighted tip includes a curved lens that directs some light around an attachment piece at the end of the fish stick and generally in the forward direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the fish stick. The fish stick may be made of a phosphorescent material and stored in a lit container with an LED and reflective surfaces. The fish stick may be made of multiple rods that are threadably engaged with each other and include a spring biasing element that increases the coefficient of friction between the threads of the rods. The fish stick may also be made of multiple rods that are threadably engaged with each other via collars.
Claims18
A fish stick for routing cables comprising:
- a lighted component comprising:
- a housing;
- a light transmission end comprising a cylindrical bore, the cylindrical bore being configured to receive and couple to a first rod;
- a light emitting source;
- and
- a curved lens coupled to the cylindrical bore, the curved lens redirects light emitted by the light emitting source around the cylindrical bore;
- the first rod comprising:
- a first end coupled to the lighted component;
- a second end opposing the first end;
- and
- a first body portion coupled to and extending between the first end and the second end;
- a second rod comprising:
- a third end;
- a fourth end opposing the third end;
- and
- a second body portion coupled to and extending between the third end and the fourth end;
- a rod connector comprising:
- a first connector comprising a first rod bore, the second end of the first rod positioned within the first rod bore;
- and
- a second connector comprising a second rod bore, the third end of the second rod positioned within the second rod bore;
- wherein the first connector comprises a first chamfer adjacent to the first rod bore, the first chamfer extending around a circumference of the first connecter;
- and
- wherein the second connector is threadably coupled to the first connector.
A fish stick for routing cables comprising:
- a lighted tip;
- a first rod comprising:
- a first end coupled to the lighted tip, the first end comprising a first indicia of stiffness;
- a second end opposing the first end;
- and
- a first body portion extending between the first end and the second end;
- and
- a second rod comprising:
- a first end coupled to the second end of the first rod;
- a second end opposing the first end of the second rod;
- and
- a second body portion extending between the first end and the second end of the second rod;
- and
- a rod connector positioned between the first rod and the second rod, the rod connector comprising:
- a first rod bore;
- and
- a second rod bore opposing the first rod bore;
- a female connector comprising a female bore opposing the second rod bore;
- and
- a third bore axially aligned and connected to an end of the female bore, the third bore positioned between the female bore and the second rod bore;
- wherein the first rod and the second rod are releasably coupled together by the rod connector.
A fish stick for routing cables comprising:
- a lighted component;
- a first rod comprising:
- a first end coupled to the lighted component;
- a second end opposing the first end;
- and
- a body portion extending between the first end and the second end;
- a rod connector comprising:
- a first connector comprising:
- a first rod bore, the second end of the first rod positioned within the first rod bore;
- and
- a first chamfer adjacent to the first rod bore, the first chamfer extending around an entire exterior surface of the first connector;
- and
- a second connector comprising a second rod bore;
- wherein the second connector is threadably coupled to the first connector;
- and
- wherein the second end is formed from a phosphorescent material and wherein a color of light emitted by the second end indicates a stiffness of the first rod.
