Abstract
A yarn storage container for storing a yarn, said storage container comprising a, preferably tubular, container, having an axial length, a, preferably tubular, wall and a first and second axial extremity, the first axial extremity of said container having an opening for receiving an end of a yarn, said second axial extremity of said container being air-permeably closed, said wall is air permeable by means of a plurality of openings present along the axial length of said container. The invention further relates to a yarn storage system comprising a plurality of containers, to a textile production assembly and to methods of producing yarn and textiles.
Claims20
An apparatus for producing textiles, comprising:
- a yarn storage system, wherein:
- the yarn storage system comprises a plurality of yarn storage containers of N rows and M columns, such that each of M and N is greater than 1;
- a first yarn storage container of the yarn storage system is positioned at row X and column Y of the yarn storage system, such that X is an integer from 1 to N and Y is an integer from 1 to M;
- a second yarn storage container of the yarn storage system is positioned at row R and column S of the yarn storage system, such that R is an integer from 1 to N and S is an integer from 1 to M, wherein either of R is not equal to X or S is not equal to Y;
- and
- a first injector serving a first yarn from a creeling system;
- a second injector serving a second yarn from the creeling system;
- a robot comprising a memory, wherein the robot is configured to receive and store a filling sequence;
- and
- wherein the robot is configured to execute the filling sequence by at least:
- moving the first injector to a location proximal the first yarn storage container;
- moving the second injector to a location proximal the second yarn storage container;
- injecting a length A of the first yarn into the first yarn storage container;
- and
- injecting a length B of the second yarn into the second yarn storage container.
A tufting machine configured to produce a plurality of textile products in sequence, comprising:
- a detachable and transportable yarn storage system comprising a plurality of yarn storage containers of N rows and M columns, such that each of M and N is greater than 1;
- a plurality of needles;
- wherein a first yarn storage container of the plurality of yarn storage containers is loaded with a length A of a first yarn, such that the first yarn is configured to be withdrawn from the first yarn storage container and threaded into a first needle of the plurality of needles;
- and
- wherein a first textile product is produced consuming 90% or more of the A length of the first yarn.
An apparatus for producing textile products, wherein:
- the apparatus is configured to produce the textile products in sequence;
- a first textile product produced has a first design and a second textile product produced has a second design;
- the apparatus comprises:
- a plurality of yarn storage systems, wherein:
- each yarn storage system comprises a plurality of yarn storage containers of N rows and M columns, such that each of M and N is greater than 1;
- a first yarn storage container of each yarn storage system is positioned at row X and column Y of the first yarn storage system, such that X is an integer from 1 to N and Y is an integer from 1 to M;
- the first yarn storage container of a first yarn storage system of the plurality of yarn storage systems comprises a first yarn having length A;
- the first yarn storage container of a second yarn storage system of the plurality of yarn storage systems comprises a second yarn having length B;
- a yarn consuming device, wherein;
- the yarn consuming device is configured to consume at least 90% of the length A of the first yarn to produce a first textile product with a first design while not consuming a first remainder of the first yarn;
- the yarn consuming device is configured to consume at least 90% of the length B of the second yarn to produce a second textile product with a second design while not consuming a first remainder of the second yarn;
- the yarn consuming device is configured to consume a portion of the first remainder of the first yarn and a portion of the first remainder of the second yarn to create a change-over zone between the first produced textile and the second produced textile.
