An information processing system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more memories having stored therein computer-executable instructions to execute information processing comprising:
• executing a game process of controlling a player character in a virtual space based on an operation input;
• when a predetermined event occurs based on the game process, transitioning from a first state to a second state a location that is associated with the predetermined event having occurred, from among a plurality of locations that are set in the virtual space;
• identifying one or more areas where a total decision value is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, wherein the total decision value for a corresponding area is based on:
• 1) summing together first decision values for different positions based on one or more locations that are in the second state from among the plurality of locations, 2) subtracting a sum of second decision values for one or more locations that are in the first state from among the plurality of locations from the sum of the first decision values, wherein the first decision value is equal to a first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position, wherein the second decision value is a value that is equal to or different from the first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and that attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position;
• and
• displaying a map image showing field information of the virtual space, wherein the field information that is shown within the map image is based on the one more areas of the virtual space that have been identified as having a total decision value that is greater than or equal to the predetermined value.

An information processing device comprising:

• one or more processors, and
• one or more memories having stored therein computer-executable instructions to execute information processing comprising:
• executing a game process of controlling a player character in a virtual space based on an operation input;
• when a predetermined event occurs based on the game process, transitioning from a first state to a second state a location that is associated with the predetermined event having occurred, from among a plurality of locations that are set in the virtual space;
• identifying one or more areas where a total decision value is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, wherein the total decision value for a corresponding area is based on:
• 1) summing together first decision values for different positions based on one or more locations that are in the second state from among the plurality of locations, 2) subtracting a sum of second decision values for one or more locations that are in the first state from among the plurality of locations from the sum of the first decision values, wherein the first decision value is equal to a first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position, wherein the second decision value is a value that is equal to or different from the first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and that attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position;
• and
• displaying a map image showing field information of the virtual space, wherein the field information that is shown within the map image is based on the one more areas of the virtual space that have been identified as having a total decision value that is greater than or equal to the predetermined value.

A computer implemented method comprising:

• executing a game process of controlling a player character in a virtual space based on an operation input;
• when a predetermined event occurs based on the game process, transitioning from a first state to a second state a location that is associated with the predetermined event having occurred, from among a plurality of locations that are set in the virtual space;
• identifying one or more areas where a total decision value is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, wherein the total decision value for a corresponding area is based on:
• 1) summing together first decision values for different positions based on one or more locations that are in the second state from among the plurality of locations, 2) subtracting a sum of second decision values for one or more locations that are in the first state from among the plurality of locations from the sum of the first decision values, wherein the first decision value is equal to a first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position, wherein the second decision value is a value that is equal to or different from the first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and that attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position;
• and
• displaying a map image showing field information of the virtual space, wherein the field information that is shown within the map image is based on the one more areas of the virtual space that have been identified as having a total decision value that is greater than or equal to the predetermined value.
