Abstract
Disclosed herein are various embodiments directed to a device for minimally invasive medical treatment. The device being a hollow tube with a first end, a second end, and one or more anchors configured to extend outward from the exterior of the hollow tube. The hollow tube having a plurality of cutouts on the exterior, wherein the cutouts allow the hollow tube to be flexible. Additionally, the hollow tube may have at least one snap mechanism configured to connect the first end and the second end together.
Claims19
An annuloplasty ring comprising:
- a hollow tube with a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is configured to couple to the second end;
- and
- an anchor rail disposed within the hollow tube and comprising a body, a plurality of anchors configured to extend outward from the hollow tube to anchor to tissue of a native heart valve, and an anchor stop mechanism having at least one projection,
- wherein the anchor stop mechanism is biased to transition between a contracted position in which the at least one projection moves toward the body of the anchor rail and an extended position in which the at least one projection extends away from the body of the anchor rail and interfaces with the hollow tube.
An annuloplasty ring system comprising:
- a hollow tube with a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is configured to couple to the second end;
- an anchor rail disposed within the hollow tube and comprising a body, a plurality of anchors configured to extend outward from the hollow tube to anchor to tissue of a native heart valve, and an anchor stop mechanism having at least one projection configured to engage the hollow tube;
- a suture in mechanical communication with the anchor rail and configured to cause the at least one projection to disengage from the hollow tube;
- and
- wherein the anchor stop mechanism is biased to transition between a contracted position in which the at least one projection moves toward the body of the anchor rail and an extended position in which the at least one projection extends away from the body of the anchor rail and engages the hollow tube.
