Abstract
The disclosed embodiments relate to systems and methods, which among other things, acquire a digital rights management (DRM)-protected media content frame. The systems and methods package the DRM-protected media content frame to disguise the DRM-protected media content frame as a WebRTC-compliant video frame by including the DRM-protected media content frame as a payload for a WebRTC-compliant video frame container that includes a WebRTC-compliant coder and decoder (codec) header to produce a WebRTC-compliant video frame container package. The systems and methods may then transmit through a WebRTC video channel the WebRTC-compliant video frame container package.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- acquiring, by a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) server system, a digital rights management (DRM)-protected media content frame;
- packaging, by the Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) server system, the DRM-protected media content frame to disguise the DRM-protected media content frame as a WebRTC-compliant video frame by including the DRM-protected media content frame as a payload for a WebRTC-compliant video frame container that includes a WebRTC-compliant coder and decoder (codec) header to produce a WebRTC-compliant video frame container package;
- and
- transmitting through a WebRTC video channel, by the WebRTC server system, the WebRTC-compliant video frame container package.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computing device, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:
- receive from a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) video channel a WebRTC-compliant video frame container package that includes a WebRTC-compliant coder and decoder (codec) header and a digital rights management (DRM)-protected media content frame comprising multiplexed encrypted video component and corresponding encrypted audio component;
- unpackage the WebRTC-compliant video frame container package by discarding at least the WebRTC-compliant codec header to output a DRM-protected media content frame containing the multiplexed encrypted video component and encrypted corresponding audio component;
- demultiplex the multiplexed encrypted video component and the encrypted corresponding audio component to output an encrypted video component and a corresponding audio component;
- and
- decrypt the encrypted video component and the encrypted corresponding audio component.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) server system, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:
- acquire a digital rights management (DRM)-protected media content frame;
- package the DRM-protected media content frame to disguise the DRM-protected media content frame as a WebRTC-compliant video frame by including the DRM-protected media content frame as a payload for a WebRTC-compliant video frame container that includes a WebRTC-compliant coder and decoder (codec) header to produce a WebRTC-compliant video frame container package;
- and
- transmit through a WebRTC video channel the WebRTC-compliant video frame container package.
