Abstract
A satellite system includes an antenna and a processor. The processor is further configured to establish initial contact with a receiver using a wide beam antenna setup for the antenna; determine a narrow beam antenna setup based at least in part on receiver data from the initial contact; and provide position coordinates and time information using the narrow beam antenna setup.

A satellite system, comprising:
- an antenna;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- establish initial contact with a receiver using a wide beam antenna setup for the antenna,
- determine a narrow beam antenna setup based at least in part on receiver data from the initial contact, wherein the receiver data includes location data of the receiver;
- and
- provide position coordinates and time information using the narrow beam antenna setup.
