Abstract
Described is a cable comprising a plurality of high temperature superconductor (HTS) components, a plurality of electrically conductive segments extending along a length of the cable, each of the plurality of electrically conductive segments comprising one of the plurality of HTS components, and an electrically insulating material arranged between adjacent ones of the plurality of electrically conductive segments.

A magnet comprising:
- a coil comprising a plurality of windings of a cable, the cable comprising:
- a plurality of high temperature superconductor (HTS) components;
- a plurality of electrically conductive segments extending along a length of the cable, individual electrically conductive segments of the plurality of electrically conductive segments including at least one of the plurality of HTS components;
- and
- an electrically insulating material arranged between adjacent electrically conductive segments of the plurality of electrically conductive segments that electrically insulate the plurality of electrically conductive segments from one another, wherein the insulating material extends from an exterior surface of the adjacent electrically conductive segments to a central longitudinal axis of the cable.
A magnet comprising:
- a coil comprising a plurality of windings of a cable, the cable comprising:
- a plurality of high temperature superconductor (HTS) components;
- a plurality of electrically conductive segments extending along a length of the cable, individual electrically conductive segments of the plurality of electrically conductive segments including a groove in which at least one of the plurality of HTS components is arranged;
- and
- an electrically insulating material arranged between adjacent electrically conductive segments of the plurality of electrically conductive segments that electrically insulates the plurality of electrically conductive segments from one another,
- wherein the insulating material extends from an exterior surface of the adjacent electrically conductive segments to a central longitudinal axis of the cable.
A magnet comprising:
- a coil comprising a plurality of windings of a cable, the cable comprising:
- a plurality of high temperature superconductor (HTS) components;
- a plurality of electrically conductive segments extending along a length of the cable, individual electrically conductive segments of the plurality of electrically conductive segments including at least one of the plurality of HTS components;
- an interior cooling channel adjacent to each of the plurality of electrically conductive segments;
- and
- an electrically insulating material arranged between adjacent electrically conductive segments of the plurality of electrically conductive segments that electrically insulate the plurality of electrically conductive segments from one another, wherein the insulating material extends from an exterior surface of the adjacent electrically conductive segments to the interior cooling channel.
